Chinook Helicopter Flying Over Afghanistan Sweating The Metal: Flying Under Fire A Chinook Pilot S Blistering Account Of Life Death And Dust In Afghanistan

In his gripping and immersive memoir, Flying Under Fire, veteran Chinook helicopter pilot Matt Eversmann recounts the dangers and challenges he and his fellow aircrew faced during their deployments to Afghanistan. With over 2,000 combat flight hours under his belt, Eversmann provides a unique and unflinching account of the realities of modern warfare.

Eversmann's story is one of both heroism and heartbreak. He describes harrowing missions into the heart of the Taliban-held mountains, close calls with enemy fire, and the tragic loss of friends and comrades. But he also writes about the camaraderie and sacrifice of the men and women who fly these vital aircraft, and the profound impact that their experiences have had on their lives.

Flying Under Fire is a must-read for anyone interested in military history, aviation, or the human experience of war. It is a gripping and immersive account of the dangers and challenges faced by Chinook helicopter pilots in Afghanistan, and a testament to the courage and resilience of the men and women who fly these vital aircraft.
